This grade is a high nitrogen and molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steel that has a comparable or surpassing corrosion resistance to that of 316/316L and 317/317L plus approximately twice the yield strength at room temperature. The alloy does not become magnetic when cold worked, unlike many austenitic stainless steels.
Grade 302 is a slightly higher carbon version than 304. 302 stainless steel is an extremely tough, ductile grade that demonstrates superior corrosion resistance. It is a non-magnetic grade that is not hardenable by heat treating. It is generally used in the annealed condition and is noted for its ease of fabrication and formability.
Stainless 304, also known as 18-8 stainless, is the most common steel used in a variety of uses because of the ease in which it can be formed into various shapes. Non-magnetic and highly resistant to corrosion makes it a good all-purpose stainless.

Type 403 stainless is a corrosion and heat resistant 12% Cr martensitic alloy, very similar to stainless type 410, with the exception of a slightly lower maximum silicon content and a slightly lower maximum chromium content. Good levels of strength, toughness and ductility may be obtained with this alloy.
